Anaheim, CA - Excitement is in the air as we announce the latest addition to Disneyland: Innovationland. Continuing the legacy of Edison Square, this new land will bring to life Walt Disney's vision of immersive environments where stories naturally unfold.
Welcome to Innovationland
Located in the heart of Disneyland, Innovationland will replace Galaxy’s Edge. While Galaxy’s Edge brought a unique experience, we believe Innovationland, with its transition from Frontierland into 19th Century New England, will be a better fit.
A Glimpse into Edison Square
Edison Square will capture the Victorian-era architectural style with ornate buildings, cobblestone streets, and storefronts showcasing scientific and technological breakthroughs of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Guests will explore Thomas Edison’s Laboratory, featuring interactive exhibits and a journey through the Imagineering archives with authentic Disney artifacts and never-before-seen blueprints. The adventure concludes in the WED Enterprises Innovation lab, where guests can design their own Disney park experiences.
Entertainment for All Ages
The Edison Theater will host a daily show featuring crazy old Maurice (Belle’s father) showcasing his inventions. By night, the Edison Stage transforms into the Powerline Glow Party, where Powerline, Goofy, and Max will dance the night away with classic hits from A Goofy Movie and other electronic songs.
New Attractions
Innovationland will introduce "Meet the Robinsons: Time Machine Mayhem," a state-of-the-art attraction inspired by the movie's time-traveling adventures. Additionally, we are bringing back the beloved Carousel of Progress with a modern twist. "Carousel of (More) Progress" will feature new scenes from the 2000s and 2020s, alongside the classic scenes we know and love.
Dining and Shopping
The Riverfront section will offer stunning views and a variety of restaurants and retail options. Guests can enjoy the waterfront scenery, especially at night, when the entire land will be illuminated with beautiful electric light bulbs inspired by Edison’s invention.
Innovationland: A Tribute to Walt Disney
Innovationland embodies the spirit of innovation and inventions that have driven progress throughout history. This land is inspired not only by Thomas Edison but also by Walt Disney himself. Disneyland has always been the nexus of themed entertainment innovation, and Innovationland will showcase that legacy.
As Walt Disney famously said, "We are not trying to entertain the critics. I'll take my chances with the public." This quote perfectly captures the spirit of our vision for Innovationland.
