Horizons: Disney Imagineering Showcase coming to Epcot

Lake Buena Vista, FL – Communicore Hall is undergoing a major transformation to better serve our guests and showcase the innovative spirit of Disney Imagineering. What once was a large but underutilized space is being reimagined into a semi-permanent showcase pavilion, aptly named "Horizons: Disney Imagineering Showcase."

The new Horizons pavilion will serve as an ever-evolving display of upcoming Disney Parks projects, offering an immersive experience that brings the future of our parks to life. Updated annually after D23 or Destination D events, this space will feature the latest concept art, models, prototypes, videos, and art installations related to new and exciting developments.

Imagine a model of the newly announced "Tropical Americas" land being on display right here in Epcot. Our goal is to provide a dynamic environment where guests can get a tangible feel for what’s on the horizon for Disney Parks. As news breaks and more information becomes available, the showcase will be updated to reflect these changes.

For instance, imagine the excitement of seeing the audio-animatronics from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure up close before the ride even opens. This immersive experience will allow guests to engage with the creative process behind their favorite attractions.

Horizons will also feature a small stage for Imagineer talks, offering guests the chance to hear directly from the minds behind the magic. These presentations will include stories of projects, behind-the-scenes insights, and a brief Q&A session, providing a unique opportunity for interaction. Following the talks, guests can meet the Imagineers for photos and autographs, managed by an attendant to ensure a smooth experience.

Horizons will be located in the World Celebration Area, celebrating the future and evolution of Disney Parks, fitting perfectly within Epcot’s legacy of innovation and discovery. This transformation displaces the proposed event center use of Communicore Hall, which will now move to the Odyssey building between Test Track and Mexico.

Horizons is designed to celebrate the creativity of Imagineers and maintain a constant buzz of excitement about the future of Disney Parks. We invite you to join us on this journey and witness the magic of Disney Imagineering like never before.
