LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – Disney Parks is thrilled to announce an exciting new expansion of the Disney Skyliner, set to bring unprecedented transportation magic to Walt Disney World Resort. The enhanced Skyliner system, opening soon, will not only provide additional routes and connections but will transform the journey into an immersive, interactive experience.
An Expanded Network of Convenience and Magic
The Disney Skyliner, which debuted on September 19, 2019, is already a beloved mode of transportation, connecting four resorts and two theme parks. This expansion will add new routes and stations, providing seamless access between Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and several resorts including Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Coronado Springs Resort, and the All-Star Resorts. The updated system will also feature a station at Blizzard Beach, enhancing accessibility to the water park.
Interactive Experiences Aboard the Skyliner
The new Skyliner cabins will feature state-of-the-art window portals that immerse guests in themed experiences tied to their destinations. From greetings by iconic characters to themed scenery, each journey will be a magical adventure.
Frozen Experience to Blizzard Beach: Guests will enjoy scenes from Arendelle and encounters with Elsa, Olaf, and other beloved characters.
DuckTales at All-Star Resorts: Join Huey, Dewey, and Louie in a fun-filled welcome to the All-Star Resorts.
Star Wars Adventures: Travel from Hollywood Studios’ Galaxy’s Edge with interactions featuring Mando, Grogu, and other Star Wars characters.
Coco and Encanto Magic: Experience vibrant scenes and music from Coco and Encanto as you travel to and from Coronado Springs and Animal Kingdom.
Lion King Journey: Enjoy a medley of Lion King tunes while gazing over the African Savannah en route to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Comfort and Sustainability
To ensure comfort during longer rides, all new Skyliner cabins will be equipped with air conditioning. Additionally, solar panels will be installed on both the cabins and the new Skyliner stations, promoting sustainability and reducing overall operational costs.
Enhanced Guest Experience and Operational Efficiency
The expansion is designed to improve not just transportation but also the overall guest experience. Fewer buses will be needed, reducing traffic and emissions while increasing efficiency. More cast members will be stationed at the new Skyliner hubs, ensuring smooth operations and guest assistance.
