LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL - Disney is thrilled to unveil its latest expansion project at Hollywood Studios: Prime Time Junction, a groundbreaking venture that will immerse guests in the world of television like never before.
"Prime Time Junction is not just a retheming of an existing section of the park - it's a full-scale expansion," said Stephen, Project Manager at Idiot's Guide to Imagineering. "With this new land, every guest becomes the star of their own show, experiencing the magic and excitement of television firsthand."
Located south of Galaxy’s Edge and spanning a size comparable to that of Pandora, Prime Time Junction will incorporate all aspects of television, offering a vast array of experiences inspired by Disney's extensive television catalog. From Disney+ originals to classic shows like Mickey Mouse Club and The Disney Afternoon, the options for entertainment are limitless.
"We envision Prime Time Junction as a celebration of the rich history and diversity of television," said Stephen. "From beloved classics to modern hits, guests will have the opportunity to step into their favorite shows and experience them like never before."
Enter the land through iconic attractions like MuppetVision and Mickey Mousecapade, which seamlessly transition guests into the world of Prime Time Junction. Drawing inspiration from Season 1 Episode 4 of the Idiot’s Guide podcast, the land will pay homage to the history of the Walt Disney Company, including highlights from its television legacy.
While Prime Time Junction is still in development, Disney has provided a glimpse into one of its flagship dining experiences: Wildcats Cafeteria. Inspired by the iconic High School Musical franchise, Wildcats Cafeteria will transport guests to East High for lunch and dinner, offering a full-scale replica of the vibrant cafeteria featured in the movies.
"Our goal with Wildcats Cafeteria is to not only provide delicious food but also to create an immersive entertainment experience," said Stephen. "Guests can enjoy gourmet cafeteria-style dining while being serenaded by our talented servers, who will perform iconic songs from Disney television shows throughout the meal."
Every 30 minutes, guests will be treated to a full-scale High School Musical performance, featuring beloved songs and choreography from the hit franchise. Additionally, the adjacent Campus Store will offer a variety of "High School Musical" memorabilia, allowing guests to take home a piece of the Wildcats experience.
"While Prime Time Junction will continue to evolve over time, Wildcats Cafeteria sets the stage for the innovative dining and entertainment experiences to come," said Stephen. "We can't wait to share more details about this exciting expansion in the near future."
