Lake Buena Vista, FL – Walt Disney World Resort is thrilled to unveil an exciting new initiative aimed at revitalizing the Boardwalk area. The Boardwalk Revitalization Project will introduce a host of new attractions, dining options, and entertainment experiences designed to transform the Boardwalk into a lively and bustling hub while maintaining its exclusive deluxe resort charm. Inspired by a recent visit from Stephen and the Idiots, the vision for the Boardwalk Revitalization Project was born out of a desire to unlock the Boardwalk’s full potential. “We felt that the Boardwalk never quite lived up to what it could be,” said Stephen. “Our goal is to create a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of Disney Springs while ensuring it remains a premium resort experience.”
Timothy Q. Mouse’s Big Top Mini-Golf
As the cornerstone of the revitalization, Timothy Q. Mouse’s Big Top Mini-Golf promises a unique and immersive experience for guests of all ages. This 18-hole mini-golf course draws inspiration from the historical connection between boardwalks and circuses, offering a playful and nostalgic tribute to Walt Disney’s fascination with the circus.
Course Highlights:
Circus-Themed Holes: Each hole is intricately designed around a different circus element, featuring beloved Disney characters as circus performers. Highlights include:
Big Top Bonanza: Putt under a giant circus tent adorned with colorful flags and banners.
Magic Show: Navigate through a tent filled with magician's props and optical illusions.
Carousel Celebration: Tee off near a miniature carousel with spinning horses.
Lion’s Den: Become the tamer as you putt inside the ring.
Augmented Reality Experience: Guests can enhance their game with augmented reality glasses, making the course come alive in new and exciting ways. Timothy Mouse himself will provide personalized coaching, offering tips and tricks tailored to each player’s style.
Interactive Elements: Encounter Disney characters throughout the course, with friends like Dumbo offering assistance and villains like Hades adding challenges.
Future Vision
The Boardwalk Revitalization Project is just the beginning. The project also aims to introduce more activities, exclusive retail, and live entertainment, elevating the Boardwalk experience to new heights. Ideas such as adding a historic carousel and a variety of circus-themed attractions are under consideration to enhance the area’s charm and appeal.
